1. Who is Veta?

Veta is Asia's largest premier academy for teaching spoken English. Established in 1981, their vision- mission is ‘Any one who walks into Veta, walks out speaking fluent English’. They have been training more than 2.2 million people speak English fluently through their simple and comprehensive course materials and by specially trained faculty.

2. What is Veta Safety Club?

Even though people have awareness about safety they don’t seem to implement. As safety is the need of the hour,
Veta safety club is formed to create a movement on safety. VSC focuses on bringing in a change in the attitude of the people towards observing safety precautions. It also tries to bring about a behavioral change among people by making them understand that observing safety measures is very important to lead a quality life.

Objectives of VSC:

  • To take Safety, as a movement to different parts of the country.
  • To achieve participation of major players in different sectors at different levels.
  • To promote the use of participative approach by the youngsters.
  • To promote safety measures on the need-based activities, self-compliance with statutory requirements at various locations.
  • To remind the country men of their roles and responsibilities

3. Why Veta to establish Safety Club?

Being one of the largest training Academy for the past three decades, Veta has created a name for itself in the society. Veta is capitalizing their training expertise and their rapport with the young audience to inculcate safety habits amongst the target group.

4. Why Veta chose to work on safety?

Veta, with their expertise in training the young minds, researched and identified safety as the fundamental concept for leading a quality life.
In order to sensitize the youth in making safety a habit, Veta established safety clubs, named as ‘Veta Safety Clubs’.  With their strong presence in many states, Veta has decided to take safety as a movement to different parts of the country.

5. Who can become members of Veta Safety Clubs?

Once VSC sets stage for safety concepts, locations and target group, they can enlighten the target group to enroll them as VSC members. The members would be basically schools , colleges and others. The members contribute to the initiatives of VSC.

6. How can I become Veta Safety Club member?

Any student interested in performing safety initiatives, can become a member of VSC. Please find below the contact details for further clarification. Also the VSC member would be approaching schools located at Chennai and other places, opening opportunities for students in different age groups.

7. How can I become Veta Safety Club Ambassador?
  • In schools, student-members from senior classes are elected as ambassador through popular vote and his/her initiatives in observing safety measures.
  • In colleges, members from the first and the final year classes are elected as ambassador through popular vote based on his/her performance in the safety initiatives.
  • The students who are direct members of VSC, through his/her interest and performance can get elevated as an ambassador.
8. What is the difference between a member and an ambassador?

A person becomes a VSC member by joining the safety club. An Ambassador is elected by the members based on his/her willingness and popularity.

9. What is the responsibility of a member?

All the members are to be sensitized on the need, mandate and details of initiatives. They strive to work on achieving the target.

10. What is the responsibility of an ambassador?

The VSC ambassador would take an active role in leading the group in addition to roping in more members. They participate in the quarterly planning/review meetings to discuss the plan of action. Value addition in the plan of action would be done based on the feedback from the ambassadors.

11. Any identity is given to the members/ambassadors?

Each member receives a Veta Safety Club badge with their school name.

12. Is there any membership fee?

This is entirely a social initiative on safety, hence no membership fee.

13. What is in VSC for me?
  • Recognition for the best VSC student ambassador on a national platform by engaging the media.
  • Best action, thought, participation will be recognised through certificates & cash awards.
  • They will also be given an opportunity to voice their thoughts in the VETA newsletter / website / blogs.
  • Recognition to the best institution / school for their contribution to safety movement.
